Happy Valentines Day
Such a cool day and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Everyone has a different Valentines day. Some people may not need to even consider it, some take it very seriously and some like me are so busy we struggle to figure out what to gift our lovely partner.
Flowers are out of the question for me, sorry but I’m not paying $150 for rose’s that will be back to $15 on Monday.
So let me give everyone, male or female something they can do. Which is easy and extremely decadent.
And above all, you can eat, unlike a rose.
Valentines Chocolate Pots
Serves 2 maybe more
- 6 eggs
- 250gm dark chocolate
- 20gm unsalted butter
- 1 cup cream
- 6 tbsp caster sugar
- Separate eggs, place the yolks into a mixer bowl and whisk until pale.
- Place the chocolate and butter into another bowl and gently melt over boiling water.
Stirring until smooth. Set aside. - Then whip the cream until just stiff. Do not overbeat otherwise you will be making butter.
- Then add the sugar to the egg whites and beat until firm peaks form.
You now have four separate items in four separate bowls.
Fold the yolks into the cream using a spatula, being careful not to overwork.
Now pour the chocolate into this mixture, and fold through again being careful maybe 8 folds.
Add ¼ of the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
Then pour the chocolate mixture into the remaining egg whites. Folding through again
Divide mixture into glasses or cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
